        The main aim of this project is to investigate innovative low carbon solutions to be implemented in industrial applications for reducing CO2 emissions by Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies and to increase the overall energy conversion efficiency. High temperature solid looping method is one innovative carbon capture methods which can deliver both high energy efficiency and low CO2 emissions. Various oxygen carriers, sorbents as well as combinations of them will be assessed for process optimization purposes. As illustrative energy-intensive industrial applications evaluated in connexion with chemical looping methods for process decarbonisation the following examples will be assessed: heat and power generation by fuel total and partial oxidation, cement production, chemical applications (ammonia, fertilizers), metallurgy (iron, steel).
