Comprehensive evaluation of redox activitity and lipophilicity for biogenic amines and related compounds



    Studies proposed in this research project include the comprehensive evaluation and modeling of the redox (antioxidant/pro-oxidant) activity and lipophilicity of biogenic amines and related compounds (precursors, metabolites, drugs) using various analytical methods (chromatography, spectrophotometry, volammetry) and chemometrics. New experimental methods will be developed for determination of target properties and different chemometrical procedures will be applied for processing chromatograms, spectra and final results. The most relevant experimental results responsible for the complex functions and effects of the investigated compounds will be identified and modeling using a large number of molecular descriptors computed by applying different computational algorithms. The ambitious objectives proposed in the present project will be a real support and a normal flow in the research activities under the most different aspects starting from the identification of the research problem, hypotheses research formulation, defining the research objectives, planning of the research activities, applying adequate method, results processing and interpretation and, not least, the research conclusions development. In this domain (QSAR/QSPR of biogenic amines and related compounds) of great practical and theoretical interest, things are not yet fully disclose and don't have yet a good fundament. Researches in this domain are expecting to contribute with great practical and theoretical benefits.
